How does this work?


The benefits of hormone replacement therapy include relief from the symptoms associated with low testosterone. Injectable treatments include weekly visits in which we can administer the injection and closely monitor patients progress. Pellet therapy by BioTE is a quarterly treatment that uses customized bioidentical hormones that are compounded in US pharmacies, ensuring the quality of the treatment is extremely high and effective.

What can I expect?


Once we’ve concluded a comprehensive consultation that includes a full panel of lab work, we will customize your hormone therapy plan. For injectable treatments, injections are quickly administered in the office. For pellet-insertion, we’ll numb the area where we’ll insert the pellets—typically the upper buttocks. We’ll make a small incision, insert the hormone pellets, then cover the small incision with a bandage. The pellet will then dissolve, absorbed by your body.

Most clients experience relief from their symptoms as soon as 7-10 days, but full optimization of the therapy can take up to 6 months. During your consultation we’ll figure out the protocol that’s right for you.

Does it hurt?


Like most injectables, they are relatively painless. You may experience slight soreness at the injection point, but this will subside quickly. For pellet-insertion, we numb the insertion site before inserting the pellet. After pellet-insertion, we recommend you don’t do any lower body exercise for a little while (walking is fine!). Showers are totally fine, but we recommend avoiding hot tubs, bathtubs, and swimming. Once we’ve removed the bandage, you can resume all normal exercise, swimming, and bathtub routines.
