Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a laser technology that sends a broad spectrum of light beneath your skin. The light energy in IPL helps to reverse the damage caused by the sun, aging, and other hyperpigmentations—it absorbs the structure of the unwanted pigments to give you clearer, younger-looking skin.
What can I expect?
An IPL treatment is simple. The light energy will feel slightly like the snapping of a rubber band as your aesthetician moves the handheld device above your face, pulsing the broad spectrum of light deep into your skin. Immediately after the treatment you may see some of the targeted spots looking a little darker or slightly sunburned—don’t worry, this will go away in just a few days.
How often should I get this service?
You will see results after just one treatment! We’re talking pore sizes reduced, age and sun spots faded, more evenly toned skin, and fine lines less apparent. We recommend getting 3-6 treatments spaced about a month apart to get the very best results we know you want.
Does it hurt?
An IPL treatment doesn’t hurt. The most you will feel is a mild sensation similar to the light snapping of a rubber band. Depending on the amount of damaged cells beneath your skin, it may take 5-7 days for the darkened spots to go away and potentially 3 weeks for full discoloration to fade. Any redness you may experience will subside in a couple of hours following your treatment.
